St. Lucia Events
2002 - St. Lucia Nursing Home founded by Winfrida Wmwashala, RN.

2005 - Grant received from International Council on Management of Population Programs (ICOMP) and the Government of Tanzania through TACAIDS.

2006 - St Lucia Hospice and Orphanage facility built and furnished with the assistance of Karma Connection, USA.

2006 - St.Lucia received award from the Government Municipal Council of Arusha for the best efforts and accomplishment in the fight against HIV/AIDS and care for marginalized children and their families of Tanzania.

2007 - St Lucia Hospice and Orphanage Grand Opening, attended by the first lady of Tanzania Mama Salma Kikwete. with many vistors and dignataries. Website created to facilitate international awareness.

2008 - Winfrida Mwashala facilitating a presentation to the World Aids Conference in Mexico City.

2009 - Once ill children are now doing very well (John Bosco) and are enrolling at Baraa Primary School.

2009 - Winfrida awarded a Caring Spirit and recognized by American Nursing

2010 - Winfrida Mwashala, RN is the recipient of a Diana Princess of Wales scholarship Fund to the University of Cape town, South Africa. The MPhil Pall Med is a degree by coursework and research and contributes to the evidence-base for palliative care in Africa. This would broaden the access to palliative care to communities in Tanzania where it is most needed
