NEW PROJECTS FOR 2010
In the last quarter of this year a new project has begun. Unfortunately we no longer had funding to continue the school project for the orphaned children and those with HIV, so we had to terminate the project end of November 2009. Instead we are working on opening a day care for healthy children where the parents can afford to pay for their attendance and through that we will be able to fund the support and care of the ill and vulnerable children who are still a great concern of St. Lucia.
The vision for the new day care is to create a high quality day care where tenderness, love and care are key words and where education, independence, nutrition and wellbeing are top priorities. The staff will be well educated people with the correct skills.
At the moment we are working hard to prepare the indoor and outdoor facilities so they can be a welcoming physical, psychological and aesthetical environment for children which promotes their health, development, learning and wellbeing. We are redecorating, painting and organising a lot of things with the help of educated teachers with years of experience and volunteers from Denmark who have years of work experience from a high quality day care in their home country. The new Day care and pre unit school will officially be launched in February 2010.
